August 13, 2017

RAWALPINDI, Aug 13 (INP): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) GT Road rally was a conspiracy to pressurise state institutions. He said this in an address to a rally held by the party along with Awami Muslim League (AML) in Liaquatbagh. The PTI chief lashed out former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, saying Nawaz is asking the reason for his disqualification when he had earlier said he would accept any decision by the Supreme Court. “This entire drama by Nawaz Sharif is to pressurise [state institutions]. He is talking against Supreme Court, JIT and NAB,” he said. Imran said that only those people are standing besides Nawaz who have vested interests in the corrupt setup. PTI chairman said that not one minister across Pakistan has been nabbed for corruption since General Elections 2013 whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, led by PTI government, is an exception. He put forth a four-point agenda to the people calling the people to unite against corrupt leaders in Pakistan and make the country cleaner among other calls. Khan reiterated that the purpose behind Grand Trunk Road ‘homecoming rally’ was to pressurise accountability department which is tasked to file five references against the disqualified premier, three of which against Nawaz Sharif. He said there was a conspiracy to remove the Article 62 from the Constitution. However, he vowed to would protect judiciary. While addressing to the former minister, Khan said this is not a drama, this is ‘Naya Pakistan’. Khan said that today only two classes are with Nawaz in the country. The first section is the one whose interests are linked with the PML-N. While citing the Abraham Lincoln’s quote, “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time”, the PTI chief said that the other class comprising a few people would soon wake up. He recalled the Army Chief had thrice stated that the Army stands with the democracy, Constitution and institutions.
