January 03, 2023

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC) Chief Executive Officer Javed Iqbal Khattak and Dera Ismail Khan Division Commissioner Amir Afaaq officially broke ground on three industries in the Dera Ismail Khan Economic Zone.

The two guests not only participated in the ground breaking ceremony for Maxel Pharma, Al-Hamd Floor & General Mills, and Ittefaq Concrete Segments, but also started construction on the zone's infrastructure, including roads, tubewells, and sewer lines. With an expected investment of Rs 600 million, the three new industries would provide more than 500 direct job possibilities.

Dera Ismail Khan Economic Zone, which spans 189 acres, is intended to serve one of Pakistan's resource-richest districts including Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, and South Waziristan Agency. These districts are located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces.

The zone has a fantastic vantage point since it is situated on the second-most significant juncture of the China-Pakistan Economic Zone route, on the Western Corridor. According to a company representative, the aforementioned location has the potential to make the Dera Ismail Khan Economic Zone a commercial and economic success due to its sizeable work force and GDP strength.
