XI'AN, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) - An ancient-style "First Writing Ceremony" is held in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Sept. 13, 2020.
First Writing Ceremony is an important event for students in ancient China. Parents would take their children to attend the ceremony before the children are admitted to school. A red dot will be put on the students' forehead as it represents the opening of the wisdom eye . Then, teachers would give lectures on basic principles of behavior. The ceremony represents that the children are ready to take a step on the lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
