Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) produced about 33,061 barrels of oil per day (BPD), 772 metric million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) and 730 tonnes of liquid petroleum gas per day (TPD). According to the company's first-half financial report for the year 2022-23, the output saw a little reduction compared to 36,788 BPD oil, 827 MMCFD gas, and 814 TPD liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) during the same period of 2021–22.

The company said that as a national symbol of the country's exploration and production industry, it is working nonstop to play a crucial part in boosting Pakistan's energy security. In this context, OGDCL contributed about 46%, 29%, and 37% towards the country's total oil, natural gas, and LPG production, respectively, from July 2022 to December 2022, the company said.

Three exploration/appraisal wells and one development well were drilled by OGDCL during the review period, and these wells resulted in three discoveries in the provinces of Punjab and Sindh. As of December 31, the company operated 49 exploration blocks, of which 26 were joint ventures and 23 had 100% ownership.
