Digi Skills Pakistan initiative is a valuable program helping to bridge the skills gap in the country by providing the young people with skills they need to succeed in the digital economy. “In today's rapidly evolving digital age, it has become increasingly important for individuals to possess strong digital skills in order to compete in the job market,” said an official of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication while talking to WealthPK.

“Pakistan, like many other countries, has recognised the importance of digital skills and taken steps to improve its citizens' abilities in this area. One such initiative is the Digi Skills Pakistan program, which aims to train Pakistani youth for better employment opportunities,” he said. This is an initiative of the Government of Pakistan spearheaded by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.

The Digi Skills program is a step towards addressing the unemployment crisis in Pakistan. According to statistics, the unemployment rate in the country was 6.3% in fiscal year 2020-2021. This means that millions of individuals in the country are currently without jobs. The Digi Skills program can help reduce this ratio by providing individuals with necessary skills to secure employment.

“This program is a vital step towards building a stronger workforce in Pakistan. The program is designed to provide training to individuals in a variety of areas, including web development, digital marketing, and graphic designing, among others. By focusing on these key areas, the program aims to equip individuals with the skills necessary to compete in the digital job market,” he explained.

The official said one of the key benefits of the program is that it is accessible to individuals from all backgrounds. He said the program is open to all Pakistani citizens regardless of their educational background. This is particularly important in a country like Pakistan, where there are significant disparities in access to education and employment opportunities.

“In addition to providing training, Digi Skills program also offers support to individuals who complete the program. This includes assistance with job placement and entrepreneurial opportunities. By providing this support, the program is not only helping to build a stronger workforce, but also contributing to the overall economic growth of the country,” he said.

“Another benefit is that it is free to participants. This is particularly important in a country like Pakistan, where many individuals may not have the financial resources to access training and education programs,” said the official. With increasing demand for digital skills in the global job market, individuals with these skills can contribute to the growth of businesses and organisations, leading to increased productivity and economic growth.
