China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has added a new dimension to the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, which is based on mutual understanding and respect, a senior official said. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted briefings for resident diplomatic missions of several countries from East and Central Asia and the Middle East.
Briefing the diplomatic missions on CPEC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) emphasized that Pakistan welcomes development partners and enterprises from around the world to strengthen investment and trade linkages, and seize opportunities in special economic zones. The additional secretary also shared the underlying vision of CPEC, which is based on Pakistan’s desire for connectivity and interest in deepening linkages with Central Asia, the Middle East and East Asia.
Two rounds of briefings were convened wherein the panel of experts included senior officials of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and the Board of Investment. The participating diplomatic missions thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant government departments for the briefing, and underscored mutual interest in enhancing economic cooperation.
