BOGOTA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- A Colombian military helicopter crashed on Thursday in central Cundinamarca Department, killing three of the five crew members on board, Colombia's Air Force (FAC) said.
"The air force reports that the Huey II helicopter ... which was flying between Air Combat Command No. 4, in Melgar-Tolima, and Air Maintenance Command, in the city of Madrid, in Cundinamarca, crashed in the area of Bojaca," the FAC said.
Cundinamarca's risk management agency said the two survivors remained trapped in the fuselage.
Firefighters from nearby towns, as well as rescue teams from the air force and army, had been dispatched to the accident site to attend to the victims.
According to the FAC, the aircraft last communicated with ground control at 11:10 a.m. local time (1610 GMT). ■
