Cloud Services: PSEB, Huawei Sign Contract

Aitizaz Hassan ISLAMABAD, April 06 (INP-WealthPk): Huawei has signed a contract with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) to offer cloud services to the IT industry of Pakistan for digital transformation in the public sector. The signing of the MOU was held during the recent Huawei cloud summit 2022 in the port city of Karachi. Managing Director of PSEB Osman Nasir and CEO of Abacus Pakistan Fatima Asad signed the MOU, which was witnessed by Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin-ul-Haque and Federal Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, reports WealthPK. Abacus is an IT consulting company, which manages the entire operations of their applications and Huawei cloud infrastructure portfolio. Abacus will ensure consultancy work between Huawei and the PSEB. The Board is mandated to promote Pakistan’s IT Industry in local and international markets. Huawei cloud is gaining momentum in Pakistan and has shown a clear value as the only Hyper Cloud present in Pakistan. Recently, Huawei and the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) also launched the PTCL-Huawei Managed Cloud Campus Solution with which enterprises will be empowered to run critical applications with complete security and data privacy at their disposal. In addition, better performance will also be delivered with higher capacity bandwidth, network visibility, and a seamless on-ramp to the cloud with significant application performance. According to Huawei Annual Report 2021, Huawei Cloud is the world’s fastest growing major cloud service provider and continues to empower industries. It has launched more than 220 cloud services and 210 solutions, and attracted over 30,000 partners and 2.6 million developers worldwide. More than 6,100 applications are now available on the Huawei Cloud marketplace. The report says Huawei is building strengths in information communication technology (ICT) infrastructure which is characterized by device-network cloud collaboration. It has stepped up efforts to create a digital ecosystem where all players create and share value together in order to help industries. Over 700 cities and 267 Fortune Global 500 companies worldwide have chosen Huawei as their partner for digital transformation. Huawei plans to invest US$100 million in 2022 to expand the Cloud Developer Program and bring more services and benefits to developers in China. So far, 70,000 cloud developers have obtained Huawei Cloud Career Certifications among 2.6 million developers. It has already developed over 8,000 solutions.
