Chongqing to Build Smart Manufacturing Powerhouse

Chongqing -  (INP)--This year’s 2020 Smart China Expo Online (SCE OL 2020) presents its exhibitions both online and offline, with the online exhibition hall incorporating the six subcategories of Chongqing Online, Smart Products, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Applications, Smart Technology, and Regional Cooperation, and the two offline exhibition centers themed “Smart Manufacturing Powerhouse” and “Famous Smart City” in the Lijia Smart Park.

On September 14, the Smart Roadshow News Center of SCE OL 2020 invited the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission and other relevant departments to hold an online press conference to discuss the city’s development in building a “Smart Manufacturing Powerhouse.”

Since 2018, Chongqing has stepped up efforts in developing industrial internet, with strategic planning lead by big data and smart technologies. As of now, 42,000 5G base stations have been built, about 10% of the country’s total; 2,265 projects have been transformed and upgraded using smart technologies, including 359 digital workshops and 67 smart factories, according to Geng Wenjun from Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission.

“To build itself into a smart manufacturing powerhouse, Chongqing is currently fully committed to the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries through the industrial internet.”

Launched by Chongqing Construction Engineering Building Materials & Logistics Co., Ltd., the Honorary Achievements cloud platform was approved in 2019 to be the first national industrial internet platform in the concrete industry, Zhang Xingli told the online press conference. “In smart manufacturing, we are looking to use smart information technologies to transform the traditional concrete industry, to improve the manufacturing capacity quality.”

Mu Jingang with the Chongqing Feixiang Industrial Internet Co., Ltd. said that as a subsidiary of Alibaba Group, the company draws reference from Alibaba’s ecosystem and tries to bridge the sales side and factory side together.

“We have brought together some of the biggest industry players to help build an automated coordination platform. At the same time, we’ve also collaborated with Ant Group and major banks to help smalls and medium-sized enterprises obtain more preferential policy treatment in supply chain finance.” Mu said.

Zhang Jinming, general manager of the Chongqing Branch of Haier Digital, said that they are committed to providing customers in Chongqing and the greater Southwest China area with the experience of a better life in all aspects, and will contribute to the city’s efforts to build a smart manufacturing powerhouse and a famous smart city.
