Chongqing – (INP)--   As the 2020 Smart China Expo Online (SCE OL) officially kicked on Tuesday, the “Famous Smart City” theme gallery, one of two offline exhibition centers corresponding to the Online Exhibition Hall’s “Smart Chongqing” section, was declared open to the public.

Covering an area of 2,000 square meters and rooted in Chongqing’s unique charm as China’s “Mountain City”, the gallery aims to display the wisdom of the city and its people from the three-time perspectives of the past, the present, and the future.

During an online press conference held by the expo’s Smart Roadshow News Center on September 14, Luo Ying, director of the Application and Promotion Division under the Chongqing Municipal Big Data Application and Development Bureau, introduced the basic information and leading features of the gallery.

According to Luo, the “Famous Smart City” gallery is designed chronologically and consists of three subcategories: Smart Achievements, Smart Practice, and Smart Future. Specifically, the Smart Achievements section takes beautiful sceneries along the Three Gorges as the storyline to display the wisdom and accomplishments of the Chongqing people; the Smart Practice section presents the significant development in the Chongqing’s construction of a new type smart city; the Smart Future section focuses on the eight daily life scenarios of smart community, smart government, smart education, smart transportation, smart healthcare, smart cultural tourism, smart poverty alleviation, and smart ecology.

“To step up building the ‘Famous Smart City,’ priorities should be given to tap into the commercial, government, and civic values of big data intelligence, to gradually enhance citizen’s sense of gain and happiness, and to support Chongqing in developing digital economy,” Luo said. Or in other words, “to make the city smarter and make life better.”

Such technologies as 5G communication, body gesture recognition, radar positioning, AI planting, and digital simulation are also introduced to help improve the interactive experience for visitors and display the charm of Chongqing as China’s Mountain City. People can take a random stroll around the city’s streets and alleys virtually and get a near real-life experience from the various smart application scenarios.
