Consul General of China in Lahore Zhao Shiren said that China will continue to provide support to Pakistan in areas of science, technology and business. He said that China and Pakistan will enhance cooperation to accelerate industrialization in the Punjab province with a special emphasis on B2B (Business to Business) engagement of Chinese investors with their Pakistani counterparts.

He made these remarks while meeting with the Chairman of the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) S M Naveed in Lahore. He said that efforts were underway to expedite the work on CPEC projects so that their actual benefits reach to the people as soon as possible. Naveed for his part stressed the need to promote the business ties between the two countries for enhanced trade and economic dependency.

He said that both countries can increase cooperation in textile, automobile, halal food, and agriculture sectors, adding that a joint strategy is needed to boost industrial linkages. The SEZA Chairman urged the Chinese business community to invest in Pakistan, emphasising that the government would provide all the necessary support. He said, “Pakistan and China enjoy a historic, unique and a special bilateral relationship.

It is a timeless and time-tested friendship nurtured by successive generations of leaders and the people of the two countries.” “Regardless of change in regional and international political landscapes, our two countries have always stood together and have always extended solidarity and support to each other in testing times,” he concluded.
