September 14, 2021

BEIJING, August 14 (INP): China had decided to offer 200 million yuan worth of grains, winter supplies, vaccines, and medicines to Afghanistan according to the needs of the Afghan people.

This was stated here by a spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian at a press conference. He told reporters that the first Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the Afghan Issue Among the Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan on September 8, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that If ecurity conditions are in place, China is willing to help Afghanistan build livelihood projects and do its best to support the country's efforts for peace, reconstruction and economic development.

This embodies the friendly policy toward all the Afghan people that China always follows, and the Chinese nation's fine tradition of helping those in need.

Afghanistan is still facing the severe challenges in terms of humanitarian situation, livelihood and COVID-19.

The international community should provide economic, livelihood and humanitarian assistance to the country and help its people tide over the difficulties.

As the culprit of the Afghan issue, the US should earnestly fulfill its commitment to Afghanistan, assume its due responsibility and obligation, take active steps to help Afghanistan ease its economic difficulties on the premise of respecting Afghanistan's sovereignty and independence, rather than shift blames onto others and simply take to its heels, the spokesperson added.
