SANTIAGO, March 23 (Xinhua)-Chile's health ministry on Monday confirmed the second death from COVID-19 in the country.
The victim, a 78-year-old woman, also had late-stage lung cancer. She was admitted to a hospital in Santiago's metropolitan area on Sunday, suffering from respiratory difficulties, and did not survive.
Health Minister Jaime Manalich said the country's total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 746, with 459 in the metropolitan area.
Chile's first coronavirus-related death was reported Saturday. ■
