November 17, 2022

Pakistan’s financial and economic stability is inextricably linked to its political stability, which will not be possible without signing the “Charter of Economy.” The statement was made by the Governor of Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman while speaking to a delegation of businessmen of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). The delegation comprised of FCCI President Mian Zafar Iqbal, Senior Vice President Hamid Ali, Vice President Muhammad Sarfraz, Vice President Shahida Munir, and President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Industries Tariq Mehmood Jadoon.

“Political leadership of the country needs to understand that its personal differences are hurting the economy. They must set aside their differences to help the country revive its economy,” the governor said. He said the government is fully committed to bringing economic stability in the country. “For this purpose, it will launch the socio-economic roadmap titled Pakistan Outlook 2035. We will put the country on track to progress once again,” he added.

He further stressed the role of business community in reviving the economy. He highlighted that businesses can spend resources in research and development to breed innovation. “It is only by keeping the competitive edge in one’s favour that we can continuously sell our products in the international market. Making innovative products will create more employment opportunities for the people,” he added.

FCCI President Mian Zafar Iqbal said that the cottage industry in Faisalabad will be given special space to develop their industry in the industrial estate of FIEDMC. President of Rawalpindi Chamber Tariq Mehmood Jadoon highlighted the need to develop an industrial estate along the Rawalpindi Ring Road. The Governor was apprised of the problems being faced by the businessmen to which he replied that he will convey the queries of the business community to the relevant government departments in earnest.
