Canvas footwear exports have seen an increase of 42.33% in the first five months of the fiscal year 2022-23 (FY-23). According to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), canvas footwear exports were recorded at USD 309,000 through the months of July and November, 2022. In the same months of last year i-e 2021, canvas footwear exports stood at USD 217,000. Similarly, the exports of leather footwear saw an increase of 28.45% over the same months of last year. This year,leather footwear exports stood at USD 61,612,000 from the months of July through November, whereas in the same months of last year, they were USD 47,654,000.

Also, footwear exports in the general category saw an increase of 27.97% in the months under consideration of the fiscal year 2022-23 over the months of the previous fiscal year i-e 2021-22. In the five months of the going fiscal year, footwear exports were recorded at USD 75,168,000, whereas in the same months last year, they were USD 58,740,000. In the same vein, exports of other footwear increased by 25.56% in the five months under consideration. They were recorded at USD 13,647,000 this year as compared to USD 10,869,000 in the same months of last year.
