Business council calls for Pakistan-India trade

September 13, 2022

A business organization underscored the need for economic cooperation between Pakistan and India to progress.

“Bilateral trade and cooperation is in the interest of both the nations. The recent floods have destroyed Pakistan’s economy and there is an urgent need for regional cooperation between the two countries,” Pak-India Business Council (PIBC) chairman Noor Muhammad Kasuri told WealthPK. This would, he said, help Pakistan rebuild its road infrastructure, economy and other sectors.

He stressed that the trade between the two countries would benefit the people on both sides. He said the volume of trade between China and India was US $150 billion despite their differences in some areas. The US-China trade stood at US $750 billion despite a clash of interests. So why Pakistan could not remove trade barriers with India, asked Kasuri.
