The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service has put information about its bus stops on Google Maps so that its clients can find the bus stations closest to them, TransPeshawar Chief Executive Officer Fayyaz Khan told media. Google Maps will also notify the BRT service customers of the quickest route to the closest bus station, the travel time needed to get there, and the schedules of various buses, he said. "Google Maps is already being used by a large number of people for travel guidance, and now BRT users can also avail of the facility to make their travel easier," he added.

Fayyaz Khan said linking the BRT with the Google app is part of the efforts to upgrade the service of mass urban mobility. Over 260,000 people use the BRT Peshawar's transportation services every day and 70,000 of them are women. He added that since the introduction of the new services, the percentage of women using public transportation has climbed from 2% to 20%.  All of these buses also offer specific seating for those with impairments, as well as transgender people who previously avoided public transportation and preferred expensive cab rides, he said.

The service has won international recognition on a global scale as it replaced decades-old transportation methods with a cutting-edge, dependable, and extremely economical mobility facility, he added. Farhan Qureshi, Country Director of Google Pakistan said he was very pleased to announce this partnership with BRT Peshawar. Many Pakistanis rely on public transportation, so adding bus stop information to Google Maps is a great opportunity to make it easier for them to plan trips and travel from one place to another, he added.
