“Kissan Package” announced by the government will help in getting a bumper wheat crop in the country in the going year. The statement was made by Muhammad Ejaz Tanveer, President of the Pakistan Business Forum Lahore and Executive Committee Member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), according to a press release received by WealthPK. He said, “the government has taken a timely step after the floods to make sure that farmers are not affected and that wheat crop is sowed on time to get full yield.”He continued that “the floods have wreaked havoc across the country. ‘Kissan Package’ will ensure that the farmers are helped.” He added that there was an urgent need to establish a mechanism which would ensure the reach of subsidies to the growers on time without any delay and leakage.

He also said that through “Kissan Package,” the government has shown its commitment to helping the farmers. “The importance of the agricultural sector is not lost on the government and the business community. We fully appreciate the efforts of the government to help the beleaguered farmers.” Ejaz Tanvir said that he was hopeful for the complete implementation of the program’s provisions. He said it is very important that each and every penny allocated for the program reaches the deserving farmers. “Changing the dynamics of Pakistan’s agriculture is very important if we want to have high yielding crops which can feed the 220 million people,” he said.
