Awards conferred on five withholding tax contributors

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has conferred awards on top five agents who contributed through the withholding tax revenues. They were given the awards in a ceremony at the KPRA headquarters. The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for Finance Taimoor Khan Jhagra as the Chief Guest.

Award winners included individual businessmen as well as enterprise associations from both the corporate and the non-corporate sectors. KPRA officials were also awarded with appreciation certificates for their good performances. A total of 51 taxpayers from 10 various sectors were selected for the awards on the basis of their contributions in taxes for the fiscal year 2021-22.

Director General, KPRA, Muhammad Kabir Afridi, highlighted the role of taxes in national development. He lauded the role of KPRA officials and the business community for continuing to give money for provincial coffers. He said, “the main aim of KPRA is to make our province self-reliant in revenues so that we can meet our expenditures on our own. The total number of registered taxpayers with the province has increased beyond 19,000.”

Jhagra said that KPRA was playing an important role in the development of KPK province through successfully raising enough revenues. He continued, “we will raise our revenue collection to more than PKR 40 billion. The satisfaction of taxpayers in the province has reached 99%, which shows the trust of people in the provincial government.” He said that KPRA will continue to recognize the contributions of regular taxpayers who contributed towards fiscal consolidation.
