Asia Album: Typhoon Higos hits Macao, China

MACAO, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) - China's Macao Special Administrative Region downgraded its typhoon signal from highest No. 10 level to No. 8 on Wednesday at 7:30 am local time, but the low-lying areas near the coastline were flooded , as Typhoon Higos had made landfall in the neighboring city of Zhuhai in the morning.
Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau had upgraded its typhoon signal to No.10 level on Wednesday at 5:00 am local time, before downgrading it to No.8 later on. The red storm surge warning was also issued at 5:30 am local time .
