KARACHI, Aug 14 (INP): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the Independence Day reminds us the sacrifices rendered by millions of Muslims of the Subcontinent to have a separate homeland. This he said while addressing the air show organized by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in connection with 70th Independence Day at Sea View in Karachi on Monday evening. Murad Shah said it was August 14 August when Muslims of subcontinent were able to get a land of their own, where they could live a life according to their religion. “On 14 August 1947, we gained independence after remarkable efforts made by our father of nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who was a man of great caliber and had the conviction that Muslims of this land could live happily when they would own a country led by their own people and a country where they could shape up their life in accordance with Islam,” he said. The chief minister said that the dream of Pakistan was conceived by our beloved poet Allama Iqbal but realization was achieved under the visionary guidance of Quaid-e-Azam. “The able leadership was even acknowledged by his worst enemies,” he said and added “it was Jinnah who fought the case of Muslim nationhood. This was his charismatic personality which attracted the Muslims of India and forged them into a nation,” he said. Murad Ali Shah said “this day demands from us to make a pledge today that we will make all efforts to build Pakistan into a more prosper and strong country even if we may have to sacrifices our lives”. He said that he wants to extend his heartfelt felicitation to Pakistan Airforce for arranging an excellent celebration. “In fact, this mega activity reflects the love and affection for our motherland. I am sure that this jubilant event would enhance the prestige of our armed forces in the eyes of our civilian brothers”. The Chief Minister further said that our armed forces have time and again demonstrated their capabilities and have rendered great humanitarian services during war and peace time. They are fully equipped with spirit of martyrdom and patriotism and never hesitate to render any sacrifice to safeguard the country, he added. “I am sure that with this spirit they can thwart any threat may it be of any type. Their recent achievements in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts for regional peace and stability are manifestation of their loyalty” he said adding that the entire nation salutes you for your dedication and commitment.
