Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) Chief Economist Erik Berglof has praised the government's economic policies and reforms for the benefit of the general public. During a call on meeting with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Mohammad Ishaq Dar, he discussed future cooperation in development projects, particularly eco-friendly and climate resilience. He also highlighted the role of AIIB in infrastructure development projects and investment in Pakistan.

During the meeting the finance minister briefed Erik Berglof on the country's current economic prospects. He informed him about the government's economic plans and reforms for long-term economic growth and the social advancement of the underprivileged. Despite the economy's difficulties, he said, the government is committed to turning things around and putting the country's finances on a solid footing. He also provided information on the financial losses brought on by Pakistan's devastating floods, as well as on the places impacted by the floods' rehabilitation and reconstruction. The minister thanked Erik Berglof for his assistance to Pakistan.
