The cooperation between the University of Engineering Technology (UET) Peshawar, and Afiniti Software Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, a global leader in applied artificial intelligence will promote the development of talented students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They will provide internships, expos, guest lectures, and scholarships for the students under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the signatures of Afiniti Assistant Manager Imran Khan and Dean Electrical and Computer Engineering Dr. Amjid Ullah. Vice Chancellor UET Dr Iftikhar Hussain praised the effort and emphasised the need to broaden the scope beyond internships to specialised employment for postgraduate students.

He said UET is the sole public engineering university with five laboratories and centres of excellence in data science, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cyber security. According to him, a partnership with Afiniti will boost research in artificial intelligence and computer software engineering while also creating new jobs. Afiniti Assistant Manager Imran Khan said Afiniti Solutions has operations in more than 20 countries, and the main goal of the MoU is to promote the development of local talent while providing assistance to outstanding students in pursuing their academic goals.

Secretary BOASAR Dr Hamid Ullah praised the effort for providing a thorough strategy for training through outreach and internship programmes. In order to provide the students with technical orientation, he said UET will get in touch with Afiniti Software Solutions. Treasurer UET Peshawar Dr Misbah Ullah requested that Afiniti Solutions support postgraduate students engaged in AI-based research projects and explore the potential for setting up a laboratory at the National Center for artificial intelligence.
