January 09, 2023

The Pakistan government will launch an internship program for 30,000 unemployed graduate youth, said a federal minister. “Under the Talented Youth Internship Program, 30,000 youth would get an opportunity to work in industry,” said Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal while presiding over a meeting of private sector representatives in Islamabad.

The minister elaborated that the internship will last six months, and a monthly stipend of Rs25,000 will be given to the trainees. He said the country’s future depends on purposeful education and skill acquisition of youth as two-thirds of Pakistan's population is below 30 years old.

Ahsan Iqbal said that the main task of the Ministry of Planning is to plan the future of the youth, adding that the development of Pakistan depends on the active role of the youth and private sector. The minister stressed the need to work together to get the country out of the economic difficulties.
